Bike art Show at Cork

The Bike Art Show went really well. A lot of people from the cycling community came out and there was a very nice crowd. People enjoyed some beer from Bold City Brewery and conversation. Note to self kern the type on prices. People thought some of my art was 6000 not 60.00. I am open to negotiations.

Bike Art Show at CoRK

I was asked to be part of Bike Jax hosted Show called The Bike Art Show at CoRK, 2689 Rosselle St., Jacksonville, Fl 32204, on May 4th at 8 pm. All art has to have some bike element in it. I spent the weekend to come up with some micro drawings for the show.

I also, created this flyer.

Cats are lethal. So give them a sharpened tail and a pointed peg leg and you have total mayhem on your hands.

Look up in the Sky! Tentacles? Micro Drawing

In the future the skies will be filled with tentacled overlords. You may not get the returns you thought you had in your 401k. That building might be your bank and you might think twice about entering the building. Good luck.

Micro Drawing of the day - Space Boulder Escape Pod

I have been playing with layout and design of my 2" x 3.5" drawings. This time I drew a fabric piece draping part of the image of the woodland scene. I still like utilizing the look of a Hipstamatic filter to the drawings. The pinhole filter look is a design element I really like.

Wasted Trip?

First off Best Buy's inventory system is terrible. Checked online to make sure they had the Bamboo stylus. Computer says 5 in stock.
Took a quick bus to Regency. Got to Best Buy and guess what? They don't have any. Well that was a wasted trip. Since this was to be a quick trip I had enough bus fare to and from. Did pick up food from Panera. Then back to the bus stop, where I miss placed my fare. I turned into one of the folks who fumble for change. Could not find my emergency $1.00. Crap!
So, I asked for a dollar from a nice guy.The one thing I do is that I carry an item for trade. AMC Free pop corn coupon, full packs of unopened gum, or small business card sized sketches. I gave a sketch to the guy who gave me a dollar. What a good Samaritan.

No item from Best Buy, but knowing there are good folk out there, priceless. Or worth a drawing.

Remember, always carry an item to trade in an emergency.

My New iPad Thrice Case

As I have acquired the iPad Thrice (That is my name for the New iPad), I need to have the leather craftsman make adjustments to the one he handcrafted two years ago. This guy did a great job.
The original iPad is thicker and the Thrice is thinner, so I need the holders adjusted and I am having changes made to the front.
First off, I really wanted a skin for the Thrice. Gelaskins and UniqueSkins do not have skins yet but, I had left over fake wood 3M material I use for my Steampunk bike project. (A tip, Unique skins allows you to design your own skin and sometimes they run a buy one get one free, so I utilized a 17" Mac book design to give me the most amount of fake wood design) I did not have enough to fully cover it but I was able to cut strips and create a 60's look for the back. The back is covered enough to save the aluminum from being scratched.

Well this will take a couple of weeks as the craftsman will be out of town, so I need to have a temp one made.
I found this great Edward Gorey appointment book from 1999 that is close to the exact size. There is a wee short length but will not harm it. The inside pages really did not amount to anything so I remover them with an Exacto knive. Then I re-enforced the inside with black duct tape. To hold the pad in place I used elastic super glued to the inside. This will be my back up case until I get my leather one back.
